Nkenge currently serves as the Associate Director of Student Affairs and Senior Admissions Officer at SIT Graduate Institute’s Washington, DC Center. She is a graduate of Tougaloo College with a BA in English and the University of Oklahoma with an MA in international/human relations. Nkenge is pursuing her doctorate of education in higher education leadership with a minor in adult education from Nova Southeastern University. Her dissertation focuses on the failure of performance-based funding in higher education and whether this is due to the inadequacy related to the specific policies that have been adopted rather than an inherent flaw in performance-based accountability as a general concept.

Her career has included the positions of ESL/English teacher at an international school in Naples, Italy, an assistant director of education for an adult learning center in Italy, an English instructor for international students at a community college, and a high school history and English teacher. Nkenge’s most recent position was assistant director of Military and Veteran Student Recruitment at the University of Maryland University College. Nkenge is a member of several associations: Kappa Delta Pi, Association for the Study of Higher Education, and American College Personnel Association. She serves as the Public Relations director for Fischler School of Education’s Student Government Association.

Nkenge has been married for 9 years and, when not working on her dissertation or in higher education, her hobbies include traveling, antique shopping, reading, visiting historical landmarks or locations, blogging on political affairs, and watching an NBA game with her favorite team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
