SIT TESOL Certificate Trainer
Alexis is co-founder and former executive director (1984–2015) of the International Language Institute of Massachusetts in Northampton. With an undergraduate degree in languages and linguistics from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in teaching ESOL and Spanish from the School for International Training, Alexis has taught languages for more than 30 years, including nine years in Barcelona, and has done trainings in Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Spain, and across the United States. She is a former commissioner for ACCET, the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training, and continues to evaluate schools across the country. In addition to Spanish, Alexis speaks varying degrees of French, Italian, Esperanto, and Catalan. She is currently studying Arabic and Chinese.
