Visiting SIT Graduate Institute
SIT hosts open houses throughout the year at both its Brattleboro, VT Campus and its Washington, DC Center. Open houses allow you to visit SIT’s facilities, observe a class, meet with faculty, and talk to current students.
SIT’s 200-acre campus in Brattleboro, Vermont, is home to SIT Graduate Institute programs, World Learning, SIT Study Abroad, and The Experiment in International Living administrative offices. Each year, about half of the student body lives in residences on campus. Campus resources include residence halls, a dining hall, an internationally focused library, technology and media services, a student-run coffee shop, and a shuttle bus to downtown Brattleboro.
Conveniently located in the center of the US capital, SIT Graduate Institute’s center in Washington, DC, is home to the Master of Arts in Sustainable Development: International Policy and Management program, and World Learning’s International Development and Exchange Programs. Students have access to World Learning’s professional development staff and to experts from other organizations and agencies based in Washington, DC, including speakers, guest lecturers, mentors, and project supervisors, as well as other learning resources.

We invite you to visit SIT in Vermont or Washington, DC for either an Open House or a personalized visit. Visits in Vermont typically include a class observation, campus tour with a current student, and a meeting with one of our admissions counselors.

Open house events in Washington, DC are held in the evening typically from 6 – 8 PM. Events provide an excellent opportunity for prospective students to learn firsthand about SIT’s Sustainable Development program based in DC. Faculty and current students are on hand to help answer your questions.
