Dr. Haitham Bashier is a training and capacity-building specialist at the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) and an assistant professor at the School of Medicine, National University in Khartoum. He joined EMPHNET in 2016. Prior to that, he worked as director of teaching and education at the Public Health Institute and as director of Emergency and Humanitarian Action at Sudan’s National Ministry of Health, where he was involved in various public health emergency preparedness and response activities. Dr. Bashier works as a research supervisor and external examiner for many universities including Texila American University and Asian Institute of Technology. He has experience designing and implementing education and training programs, and he is a reviewer for public health and emergency management journals. He holds a PhD in disaster management and a master’s degree in public health.
