Javier Fochesatto

Dr. Fochesatto is associate professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and an expert in the physics of the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL). His research focuses on the ABL related to meteorology and various processes. His research group conducts experiments in Arctic and sub-Arctic regions, linking surface processes and boundary layers in complex ecosystems to large-scale satellite remote sensing and climate models. He has a PhD in physics (2000) from the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique, Ecole Polytechnique, Université Paris VI, France, and an engineering diploma (1991) from the School of Engineering, National Technological University, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
