Dr. Nihaya Al Sheyab is an experienced healthcare professional in the field of child and adolescent health and health behavior modification. She is associate professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology. Her current research interests revolve around effective ways to promote healthy lifestyle behaviors among youth. Dr. Al Sheyab has held several important administrative positions at JUST including vice dean and chair of Community and Mental Health, which both prepared her to prioritize the health needs of local communities. Since 2012, Dr. Al Sheyab has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers in the highest-ranked health and medical journals in the field of child and adolescent health, and health behavior modifications. She obtained her MS and PhD in nursing at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She was a researcher and teaching assistant at Jordan University of Science and Technology from 2000-03 and was appointed honorary associate at the Faculty of Health at UTS to continue collaborations with her Australian supervisors. Dr. Al-Sheyab has supervised more than 20 higher degree research students, including one current PhD student from New Zealand.
