Global Training Specialist
Sonny has been playing a lead role for Student Affairs, coordinating SIT’s social justice and equity training work since January 2019. He started his work with SIT as an anti-oppression trainer for the International Honors Program (IHP) and then as the IHP: Cities program’s launch coordinator in New York City. Sonny received his master’s degree in social justice education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In addition to having years of experience as a community and labor organizer in New York, Sonny has been designing and facilitating trainings and workshops on social justice issues for schools, universities, and nonprofits for over 15 years and is a member of the training teams for Race Forward and the Center for Racial Justice in Education.
