SIT TESOL Certificate Trainer
Caroline Gear is the executive director of the International Language Institute (ILI) of Massachusetts in Northampton, MA. She has been at ILI since 1986 as teacher, administrator, and teacher trainer. She is a trainer of trainers for the School for International Training’s TESOL certificate course. Caroline has written articles on assessment and evaluation and presented in the area of teacher training and the administration of programs both regionally and nationally. She continues to teach ESOL and Spanish to various adult populations. Caroline has lived and worked in Peru, Mexico, and Spain and has a master’s degree in Spanish literature from Michigan State University. She has served as secretary on the executive board of directors for EnglishUSA (American Association of Intensive English Programs). She is currently serving on the executive board of the Northampton International Rotary Club and is the Intensive English Programs Member Interest Group network leader for NAFSA.
