SIT TESOL Certificate Trainer
As a small town Kansas girl, Shirley Mantilla dreamed of living in the Andes on the equator. After spending one year as a VISTA Volunteer in Arizona, she obtained her MS degree through a Teacher Corps program in a rural Kansas school district, joined Peace Corps and went to Ecuador where she has lived for the past 38 years teaching all ages of students, acting as a Middle School coordinator, working with community groups, and more recently becoming a licensed TESOL and TRIBES trainer.
She enjoys traveling, visiting archaeological sites and zoos, and designing and making jewelry with indigenous designs and semi -precious stones set in silver and turquoise.
