Supporting girls in Liberia

Country Director, More Than Me
Currently, I am the country director at More Than Me, an NGO operating in Monrovia, Liberia, that provides a tuition-free education to 152 girls in grades K–6. Not only does More Than Me provide high quality education, it provides wraparound services such as healthcare, family planning, psychosocial support, and a feeding program to the most vulnerable girls in Monrovia. In addition, More Than Me is working with the Ministry of Education on a pilot program to implement successful initiatives found at More Than Me Academy into two schools in each of Liberia’s 15 counties, starting with a first phase of six schools.
I received my Master of Arts in Sustainable Development: International Policy and Management from SIT Graduate Institute in 2014. SIT provided me with a solid background in program design and proposal development and, most importantly, equipped me with a network of classmates and alumni and with experience that has given me a toolbox to work with. My courses allowed me to develop strong intercultural communication skills, something that I use on a daily basis working in Liberia.
It’s hard to imagine myself anywhere else in the world doing anything else, and I’m extremely excited to see where the work of More Than Me progresses.
