Commencement 2021

Please note: Due to inclement weather forecast for Saturday, Commencement will be held indoors. All attendees are therefore required to wear masks. The masks should cover nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides of the face and over the nose.

The 2021 SIT Graduate Institute Commencement Ceremony will take place on August 21, 2021, at 10 a.m. (EDT) on the SIT campus at 1 Kipling Road, Brattleboro, Vermont. The ceremony will be held in person on campus and will be live-streamed on SIT Graduate Institute’s Facebook page.

A brief, informal rehearsal for graduates participating in person will take place on the SIT campus in Brattleboro on Friday, August 20, at 4:30 pm, at the International Center. At the rehearsal, you will learn important logistical information that will make the commencement ceremony run smoothly.

COVID Safety Measures

In keeping with the most recent recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which were updated on July 26, 2021, fully vaccinated attendees (including vaccinated students, faculty, staff and guests 12 and older) do not need to wear a mask while outdoors.

Unvaccinated attendees, including children under age 12, are asked to wear masks at all times. The masks should cover nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides of the face and over the nose.

While indoors, we ask that all participants wear masks and follow social distancing recommendations.

Commencement attendees should check this website for updates immediately prior to commencement for any changes to CDC guidance, or for requirements or recommendations from the Vermont Department of Health that may be more stringent than federal recommendations.C
