Graduate Admissions Officer
Originally from Singapore, Joyce completed her BA at the University of Adelaide in South Australia, focusing on linguistics and Japanese, and spent a year studying abroad in Tokyo at Waseda University’s School of International Liberal Studies. She is currently finishing her MA in international education at SIT Graduate Institute.
Joyce speaks English and Mandarin and has studied Japanese and Spanish. She has travelled extensively in twenty countries and is passionate about intercultural communication and culture shock / reverse culture shock adjustment programming for study abroad programs. Prior to joining SIT, Joyce worked as senior executive at the National University of Singapore’s International Relations Office. In this capacity, she focused on undergraduate short-term study abroad, working on special government programs, summer programs, internships, and research programs. She was also involved in freelance translation (English to Mandarin and vice versa) and early childhood education. Joyce lives with her husband and their two rescue cats. Her hobbies include reading, writing, and exploring the United States.
