Bernice Clark is Teacher Training Coordinator at the American Center in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). She has lived and worked in Asia for 17 years, in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Vietnam, and now Myanmar. Her work has been in language teaching, teacher training, and program administration in education. She has also taught in schools and universities in the US, England, China, and Vietnam. Before arriving in Myanmar in 2010, Bernice worked as Education Specialist for the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, where she developed and presented joint US–Vietnam teacher training programs to local English teachers. She was also a State Department English Language Fellow at Hanoi University of Technology (HUT). She has presented at education conferences throughout Vietnam and Cambodia, focusing on teacher development, academic skills, and developing critical thinking in the classroom. Bernice has an MA in Linguistics and a CELTA from the University of Gloucestershire, U.K. Her hobbies include skiing, golfing, hiking, and films.
