Student Health, Safety, and Wellbeing
SIT Graduate Institute places the highest priority on the health, safety, and security of all our students. We aim to help all students achieve their academic potential by providing a supportive, diverse, and community-focused learning environment.
SIT’s dean of students and Office of Student Affairs provide leadership and vision in the areas of student health services, crisis management, counseling, housing, safety and security issues, diversity, student conduct issues, and support for students with disabilities. The dean establishes and monitors best practices and institutional protocols for all student affairs operations in the US and abroad. Student Affairs staff are on call 24/7.
SIT provides ongoing support to students in areas related to mental health, accommodations for disabilities, and dietary and medical needs. We also offer LGBTQ support and religious/spirituality support.
Our academic support services include academic resources, services, and staff to support and complement both classroom studies and the pursuit of individual interests. Professional staff and student assistants are present at each SIT facility to provide assistance. Some departments maintain evening and weekend hours, as well as regular class-time hours. The Career and Practicum Services Center provides career coaching and practicum support services.
